Jason Arends has been a golf enthusiast for 25 years while working in different areas of the industry and constantly playing and trying to improve upon the game he loves. Practicing his short game is something he’s always enjoyed, but it can be a hassle because you have to be at a golf course or a driving range. Even when at the course, it‘s not always a picnic as one must contend with other players on the practice areas and it can be distracting and a nuisance. Having worked on a golf course as a Greenskeeper in the past, Jason knew there had to be a better way to get in some serious practice, but have fun doing it all in the comfort of his own backyard. Following the devastating August 2020 Derecho that destroyed the majority of Cedar Rapids, along with part of his own backyard, Jason now had a wide open space and after getting cleaned up he promptly began to design his own dream backyard putting green. Jason had visions of a Putter’s Paradise rolling about 10.5 on the stimpmeter alongside the pool and with the help of his wife and daughter his 375 square foot vision came to be in October 2020.
